School Spirit PR Partners with GSSA to Provide Critical Crisis Communication Support for Georgia School Districts
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — School Spirit PR, is proud to announce a partnership with the Georgia School Superintendents Association (GSSA). This new collaboration introduces a comprehensive crisis communication support program as a new, free benefit for GSSA member districts across the state of Georgia.
Through this proactive initiative, Georgia superintendents now have immediate access to School Spirit PR’s expert communication counsel during high-stakes situations. This service is provided at no cost to GSSA member districts, ensuring that school leaders have the professional support needed to manage the narrative when it matters most.
“In a crisis, the speed and clarity of your communication can determine how quickly a community heals and moves forward,” said Lesley Bruinton, APR, CEO & President of School Spirit PR. “By partnering with GSSA, we are ensuring that Georgia’s school leaders don’t have to navigate their most difficult days alone. This partnership allows superintendents to focus on the safety of their students and staff while we manage the complex demands of media and public information.”
Dr. John Zauner, Executive Director of GSSA, noted the importance of this new resource for Georgia’s educational leaders:
GSSA has recently engaged with Lesley Bruinton, CEO and President of School Spirit PR, on behalf of Georgia School Superintendents Association. The school systems that have received consultative services with School Spirit PR during a crisis have provided positive feedback on the professionalism and expertise of the communications recommendations from CEO Bruinton. Her personal touch and willingness to respond quickly to the local district’s request have been very impressive. All of the 180 school districts in Georgia have the option of requesting the services of School Spirit PR, as they deem necessary, and GSSA is confident that every school system is in good hands with CEO Bruinton and School Spirit PR.
This new member benefit is designed to address significant incidents that impact a district’s operations or standing, including:
- Health and Safety: Natural disasters or school safety threats.
- Financial Stability: Major budget crises or issues of fraud.
- Employee Misdeeds: High-profile misconduct affecting the district’s image.
- Tragic Incidents: Events involving a death within the school community.
- Reputational Risk: Any critical issue threatening public trust.
To maintain the highest level of responsiveness for urgent needs, the benefit focuses on genuine crises. It does not cover routine media inquiries, bond referendums, minor social media management, or legal advice.
GSSA member superintendents or their designees can access this crisis support by contacting the Dr. John Zauner.
